5138 Biscayne Blvd. / Miami / 305.759.1696

The Honey Tree health food store on Biscayne and 51st runs the yummiest vegan/vegetarian lunch counter in the city. Head to the back of the shop and most weekdays and you'll find a line of people waiting, mouths watering, to dive into their healthy, homemade creations. Every day everything is fresh and different. Especially awesome: guacamole from scratch, tofu/seitan in magical sauces, roasted veggies of alllll sorts, TACO PIE, lasagnas, empanadas, and the list goes on. Eat some real food for lunch instead of fake-ass greasy drive-thru! Your mom would be proud.

How To Use This Guide
Key
Ratings (based on yumminess and general consideration toward vegetarians):

Glorious, tofu-filled veggie paradise!

Highly recommended for progressive palates.

You could definitely do better, but you won’t starve.
Pathetically insensitive toward meatless society. Pass!
Vegan-friendly (offering food that is completely free of all animal by-products including eggs, dairy, gelatin, lard, etc.
Price rating scale, based on a meal for one person without drinks:
$ under $10
$$ under $20
$$$ under $30
Notice too that as of this point there are very few "$$$" restaurants listed yet. This is because yet another benefit of eating vegetarian is that the dishes are cheaper than when you order meat so you can eat at nicer restaurants more often!

Cute spot, they microwave the food. The food was good, we went a few times, but haven't been back in years.
Perhaps u can make a recommendations post, just for people who want to make recommendations of places not listed here yet.
Here is a review for another great restaurant - Vegetarian Restaurant in Doral. Spanish speaking, the owner however speaks english. The food is fresh and prepared with love! They make a dish of the day, plus they have empanadas, a veggie wrap, smoothies, pizza & the best vegan cake ever! This is worth the drive just for the cake, all of the food was great, and the atmosphere is very homely, they treat the customers well, and the customers seems to be more of friends and family as they tell me most people eat here everyday who live in the area. They are all Vegan! They do offer honey in the smoothies, but they will ask.
I drove all the way from Hollywood Beach a few days ago, & I will be back, I'm also ordering a cake from my upcoming baby shower!
Thank you so much for this web-site. I work in the Design District and I didn't realize there were so many great vegetarian/vegan options right under my nose.
I tried The Honey Tree today for lunch and I was thrilled! First of all, the people who work there are super friendly. Secondly, the food was delicious, fresh and affordable. I eat a 70% raw, vegan diet and even I left stuFFed. They had three raw dishes: Avocado salad (HUGE chunks of avo), massaged lacinato kale with cranberries, and a spinach salad. In addition, I enjoy a generous cup of calabash squash soup all for $8.95!
I'm thrilled - I will definitely go back.
