Although I never made it to their previous location (now the Amendment XXI bar), I always heard wonderful things about ONENINETY. Their new location, just shy of N Miami Ave. on 54th St., opened recently and I've since been back several times! Veggies and meat-eaters alike will find exciting culinary experiences ahead of them... The walnut-ricotta angolotti I had came in a sage butter sauce that could've been oily but was smooth and balanced. Chef Alan Hughes is a pro - creative and accommodating. One night they were out of the main vegetarian option and so he simply served me the grilled vegetable plate of my dreams - loads of fresh veggies, infused with rosemary, charred to perfection. Even the scallops in coconut milk with curried eggplant and granny smith apples my companion had looked amazing (he assured me it was top-notch though sadly, scallops don't grow on trees). The atmosphere is funky-chic and cozy and they've got reasonably priced wine and beers. The kitchen is open Wednesday through Sunday 6pm to midnight, and drinks and tapas are on 'til 3am when live local music is brought into the mix!
